Cooking Classes

COOKING CLASSES

As much as possible we start classes on time. Please plan to arrive 15 - 20 minutes prior to the listed class start time to check-in, get a beverage and wash your hands.

Class Type

        • DEMONSTRATION
          The instructor will prepare each of the dishes on the menu as you watch.  You will have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with other students.  You will be served a tasting of each of the dishes and will receive a copy of the recipes to take home.  Unless a class is designated "No BYOB," you are welcome to bring beverages of your choice.  We will provide glasses and bottle openers.  No take-out.  Students attending classes receive a 10% discount at the time of class on their purchases.  Seating for 20 - 50 guests. 

 

        • HANDS-ON (Multiple Items)
          Following the directions given by the instructor and with the help of additional staff, you will help prepare the meal that will be enjoyed by all the students at the end of class. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with other students.  You will be served a tasting of each of the dishes and will receive a copy of the recipes to take home.  Unless a class is designated "No BYOB," you are welcome to bring beverages of your choice; however we ask that you wait to open any outside beverages until all knives and other sharp tools are returned to their proper location. We will provide glasses and bottle openers.  No take-out.  We recommend dressing in comfortable clothing and shoes.  For safety, we recommend close-toed shoes and keeping jewelry and accessories to a minimum.  An apron will be provided to help protect your clothing during class. Students attending classes receive a 10% discount at the time of class on their purchases.  Seating for 15 - 32 guests. 

 

        • HANDS-ON (Single Topic)
          Following the directions given by the instructor and with the help of additional staff, you will prepare the item on the menu.  Depending on the class, you will be given the option to eat what you make in class or to take some or all of it home with you.  You will receive a copy of the recipes to take home. Unless a class is designated "No BYOB," you are welcome to bring beverages of your choice; however we ask that you wait to open any outside beverages until all knives and other sharp tools are returned to their proper location. We will provide glasses and bottle openers.  We recommend dressing in comfortable clothing and shoes.  For safety, we recommend close-toed shoes and keeping jewelry and accessories to a minimum.  An apron will be provided to help protect your clothing during class. Class Setting

        • INDOOR CLASSROOM
          Students will be seated at tables for the duration of the class.  Groups wanting to sit together should either register todgether or call the morning of the event and make a request.  We do our best to honor all requests; however requests will be honored on a first-call basis THE DAY OF THE EVENT ONLY.  Seating for 20 to 50 guests, depending on class type.

 

        • OUTDOOR GRILLING VENUE
          This is a much more casual environment than our indoor classroom.  Students will be enouraged to participate and mingle.  No assigned seats.  Our pavillion is covered; however you may be impacted by weather.  Please dress according to the weather as this is an outdoor space.  Maximum of 20 students.

 

 

Children

        • BIG HANDS/LITTLE HANDS
          A team of one adult (Big Hands) and one child ages 4 - 7 (Little Hands).  The class will focus on skills for children, with assistance from the adult when needed.

 

        • KIDS COOKING CAMP
          Ages 8 - 14 (no adults). 

 

        • ALL AGES WELCOME
          You will notice that some classes are designated 'All Ages Welcome,' which means that you are welcome to bring children.

 

        • OTHER CLASSES
          We trust you to know the maturity level, experience and palate of your children and to use your best judgement when registering children for our classes.

 

Avocation Classes

Although our classes are not for credit or certification, you will learn a great deal from our instructors in a fun, foodie-friendly environment.

 

Food Allergies

We are not an allergy-free environment; therefore are unable to accommodate most special requests.  Please register/plan accordingly. 

 

Class Policy

Full payment is required at the time of registration. You must provide a credit card number, expiration date and CV# if you wish to register by phone or online. Gift cards may be used over the phone for classes.

Like most sporting events, concerts and shows, all cooking class fees are non-refundable. If you cannot attend an event, you may send someone in your place.  In the unlikely event that a cooking class is cancelled, the purchaser will be given the choice of a credit toward another class or a refund. 

The Kitchen Shoppe reserves the right to modify menus and/or change instructors, or to cancel any class at its discretion. Students attending classes receive a 10% discount at the time of the class on their purchases.

Photographs may be taken by the Kitchen Shoppe & Cooking School during class and used for advertising/social media purposes.
